Rise Conference 2022 helps to move real estate agents away from a transactional goal focus career.
On the 24th of May 2022 our team attended the Rise Initiative conference held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The day was packed full of conversations to explore human centred real estate and examine the connections between performance, mental wellness and motivation. All this allowed our agents to unpack how to become better agents and property managers through hearing about the latest insights in psychology, neuroscience, leadership and culture.
With this year’s focus of the conference being on mindset and wellbeing, Rise coach, Jet Xavier took some time to speak with our own Tanja Neven-Jones from our Chelsea office on some of her key takeaways she noted down from the conference.
The Rise Initiative is a movement in real estate that is ‘for good’. They are a not-for-profit charitable foundation that works to improve and grow the real estate industry with the goal to move real estate and property management away from the one-dimensional goals of chasing transactions and getting through ‘to do’ lists. The founders of the Rise Initiative believe our people thrive when we have mentally robust parameters that are based on rounded human relationships that support wellness, mindfulness and performance. This in turn transacts to a greater service for our clients and better outcomes for our teams, our families and ourselves.
The real estate industry has a shocking legacy of stress, burnout and worse brought on by us chasing, and rewarding, the wrong goals. This is why it was so important for the focus of this years conference to be based around mindset and wellbeing particularly following the last two years.
It was an honour for the OBrien network to be able to attend the conference and hear from all the inspirational coaches and guest speakers. Click here if you would like to see more about what our agents learnt at the Rise conference.
