As a Real Estate Agent, training and continuing education is a way of life. There are new laws, revised contracts, new computer programs and the ever popular clock hours that must be fulfilled to renew our license. There are also courses that are pressed upon Real Estate Agents as a way to build your business, courses that add alphabet soup letters after our names. Do these courses in Real Estate training effect your business in a dramatic and positive way or are they merely a way for those presenting the course to dip a little deeper into your pockets.
The concensus among the people in the non-real estate world is that Real Estate Agents are rolling in dough. After all, look how much an agent makes off just one sale. 6% of $300,000 is $18,000 not a bad haul for a days work so they think. You on the other hand know just exactly how high the cost of doing business in Real Estate is. You understand that a sale doesn’t take a day, it may take weeks or even months. It is compounded by advertising costs, and desk fees. Realistically, how much do you get of that 6% commission? Do you even profit by half? Now, with the nations economy in a slump, and the housing market slowed do you put a third of the total commission in your pocket?
With this in mind, I ask you Mr. and Ms. Real Estate Agent, you with the deep pockets, what do you want to spend your hard earned money on? Is it a hope for a better business or is it the reality?
Which of the alphabet soup Real Estate training courses will best help your business? Is it best to become a Exclusive Buyers Agent EBA, to receive your Graduate Realtor Institute GRI, or maybe it’s becoming a Certified Residential Specialist CRS.
One of perhaps the best courses you can take doesn’t offer any letters after your name, but that doesn’t really matter because the general public doesn’t know what they mean anyway. The public, your clients don’t know the difference between GRI and MMDP, they don’t know what is involved in becoming a member of your companies Diamond Society, or the Presidential Elite. All they know is that you offer them excellent customer service, with honesty and integrity. So it is this Agents opinion that by far the best Real Estate trainging for you and your business is Integrity Selling.
The difference that this course can make not only in business, but in every aspect of your life is no less than astounding. Working from integrity, from honesty, with the ethics that are built into our business is an amazing thing to behold. It is where we all should be working from, and where we should live our life. Integrity! What an amazing concept, and no alphabet soup to drag around behind you.
