Oklahoma Real Estate License

Are you interested in obtaining a real estate license in Oklahoma? Great! Below you will find all of the Oklahoma pre-license and continuing education requirements as issued by the state. You will also find the current reciprocal licensing agreements, resources and more. If you have any questions about all of this, please feel free to contact our team.

Oklahoma Real Estate Pre-License Requirements

The following are the current real estate license requirements set forth by the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission.

  • All applicants must be eighteen years of age or older at the time of application.
  • All applicants must successfully complete ninety clock hours of basic real estate instruction through a state approved real estate course provider.
  • Applicants must complete an application and have it notarized before sending it in to the Real Estate Commission.
  • Applicants must successfully complete the Oklahoma real estate exam.

Oklahoma Real Estate Continuing Education Requirements

All licensed agents will be require to renew their real estate license every three years that their license remains active.  During that three year term, the licensee will be required to complete a twenty-one (21) clock hour continuing education course.

The twenty-one clock hours break down into the following, 12 required clock hours consisting of 4 (four) core subjects as determined by the Commission and 9 clock hours consisting of elective subjects.

Oklahoma Real Estate License Reciprocity Agreements

The State of Oklahoma has reciprocal licensing agreements with numerous other states in order to expedite the processing of licenses.  Unfortunately, the requirements vary with each one of these states. The Oklahoma Real Estate Commission will be able to provide you with case-by-case information for all of these requirements.

All non-resident real estate agents from states that do not currently have reciprocity agreements can typically receive an Oklahoma non-resident license if they have a minimum of two years active experience during the prior five years, provide proof that they are in good standing in their home state, file the necessary application forms and pay the fees.
