“Langwarrin Overview”
A vibrant and family centric community, Langwarrin lies at the gateway to the popular Mornington Peninsula and Gippsland regions, and provides easy access to a number of freeways, making it a short 45 minute trip into town (Melbourne CBD).
Occupying approximately 28.8 square kilometres, Langwarrin is home to about 25,000 residents who are serviced by two local shopping villages and a number of smaller shopping strips. There is also a local bus route that connects Langwarrin to the two larger townships of Frankston and Cranbourne and train services.
Spoilt by a number of public and private, primary and secondary schools, there is also child care, preschool, maternal and health care services locally, as well as a private hospital.
Fondly known as “Leafy Langwarrin”, parklands and playgrounds are scattered around the suburb and it is home to a number of sporting and recreational clubs including football, netball, cricket,tennis, soccer, martial arts, scouts, girls guides and men’s shed to name a few.
Some of Langwarrin’s more famous attractions include the Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve, Elisabeth Murdoch’s gardens and the McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park.
