Information and Requirements for Obtaining a Real Estate License in Hawaii.
1. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by the time of the exam.
2. All applicants must be a citizen of the United States, a United States national, or an alien authorized to work in the United States by the date of their exam.
3. For a real estate license to be issued applicants must provide their social security number or your licensing application will be deemed deficient and will not be processed.
4. Applicants shall possess a reputation for or record of competency, honesty, truthfulness, financial integrity and fair dealing to receive their license.
5. Within two years of passing the real estate salesperson’s or broker’s exam, all applicants must submit a complete application for licensure.
In addition to the above, all applicants must meet the following requirements to become a licensed real estate agent in the State of Hawaii:
6. All applicants must complete the appropriate (salesperson or broker) Commission approved pre-license course given in Hawaii before the date of the examination, or apply for and obtain a “Pre-licensing Education Equivalency”.
7. Applicants are required to pass the salesperson’s license examination.
