Louisiana Real Estate License

Information and requirements for obtaining a real estate license in Louisiana.

1. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older at the time of application.

2. All persons applying for a real estate license must have obtained a high school diploma or equivalent.

3. Any applicant with a prior criminal conviction (felony or misdemeanor), will be required to undergo a background investigation and must obtain approval from the Real Estate Commission before being allowed to take the real estate licensing exam.

4. Applicants are required to complete ninety hours of real estate education in courses approved by the Louisiana Real Estate Commission.

5. All applicants must successfully complete the Louisiana real estate salesperson licensing examination.

6. Applicants are required to be sponsored by a licensed real estate broker and provide proof of errors and omissions insurance prior to being issued a license.

Kentucky Real Estate License

Below you will find all of the necessary information and requirements needed for becoming a licensed real estate agent in the State of Kentucky.

1. All applicants must be eighteen years of age or older.

2. Real estate license applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Though applicants that have completed at least 28 credit hours from a post secondary institution may submit a copy of the transcript in lieu of the high school or G.E.D. diploma.

3. All applicants are required to complete a minimum of six semester credit hours in real estate courses from an accredited college or university. Alternatively, applicants may also earn 96 classroom hours in real estate courses from a Kentucky Approved Proprietary School. All courses must be completed prior to taking the real estate examination.

4. Any applicant taking the real estate license examination will be required to pass a criminal background check before being able to become a licensed agent in Kentucky.

The State of Kentucky has reciprocal license agreements with Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee and West Virginia. If you hold a real estate license in any of those states you can file for a reciprocal real estate license through the State of Kentucky.
