You would have to take California's real estate agency class which is only about 20 classroom hours last time i checked and then you take a test and your done. The class usually cost around $200 to $300 and the book is around $100. It's been 6 years since i got my last license so the costs may have changed a bit but not much. The reasoning behind this is California has different rules then Canada. The rules are very different if a homeowner is in foreclosure because there are different procedures you have to go through.
