Alaska Real Estate License

According to AS 08.88.171, anyone interested in acquiring any type of real estate license in Alaska must meet the following requirements:

• Applicants must pass the required exam(s).
• Applicants must not be under indictment for forgery, theft, extortion, conspiracy to defraud, or fraud.
• Applicants are required to apply for their real estate license within six months after passing the licensing exam.
• Applicants must pay the appropriate exam and licensing fees.
• and you must meet the all of the educational requirements as indicated by the Alaska Real Estate Commission.

An applicant wishing to become a licensed real estate agent in Alaska must:

• Be at least 19 years of age or older.
• Work for a licensed real estate Broker.
• Complete a minimum of forty classroom hours of pre-licensing education through a state approved real estate school.
• Not have been convicted of a felony within seven years. A real estate license will not be granted until seven years have elapsed since your sentence has been completed.
