10 Great Reasons you Should get a Real Estate License

Are you one of those types of people that feel the need to over analyze everything put in front of you? Well, don’t feel too bad because we are the same way, but here are ten reasons that may just sway your decision about getting that real estate license once and for all!

1. Real estate agents get to set their own hours(to an extent) along with make their own decisions, market themselves and basically run their own business, although you do have a broker over you, you are still in control of your fate.

2. You get to meet new people all of the time! In most cases these people are extremely happy because they are about to buy a new home and you get the pleasure of helping make their dreams come true. What more could a person ask for in a career?

3. The money! I know, everyone was waiting for us to say something about how much they make, so here it is. Now we aren’t going to sit and lie to you about every agent making a fortune, but we will tell you that there is the very real potential of making lots of money. Many agents are paid very well, it usually depends on whether or not you are willing to work for it.

4. Finally, a career that works around your schedule! We are all busy, some busier than others, and we need the comfort of knowing that when we need to leave early, miss a day or maybe just come in an hour late, that when we get there we are still going to have a job. Real estate allows that, in fact, you can probably just stay home for the day and work from there.

5. As a real estate agent you are allowed to just be you. We are all different and unique in some way. Maybe you dress differently than me, or you have a pink streak in your hair, who knows. As a real estate agent you will be able to work as you. A lot of agents go to work every day dressed casual, while others feel the need to where a business suit. Some agents have made a market for themselves by dressing “country”, others are known for their laid back attitudes and attire. Allow yourself to feel natural, comfortable and enjoy going to work each day.

6. You should get your license because its about time you start a “real” career. We have all bounced from job to job at one time or another but aren’t you about ready for a change? There is a lot of comfort in knowing that you are going to have this career for many, many years to come.

7. You get to learn so many new things if you get your real estate license. Think about all of the new legal stuff, how the home buying and selling processes work, oh the fun you will have!

8. How about the lifestyle. You know that today’s society often places real estate agents on a higher “platform” than many other career choices. People assume that agents are living better lifestyles, making lots of money and enjoying life. While this isn’t always true, why not enjoy it for a bit!
